Football. The “Matches de l’espoir” (Matches of Hope) in Zellwiller on Saturday to support the fight against cancer.

"Here, we are proud to support the fight against cancer in Alsace." The slogan of the Life Pink association will be the DNA of the "Matches de l'espoir" organized Saturday, June 21, starting at 10 a.m. in Zellwiller.
"It all started with a 'schnapps idea' between friends, and here we are, organizing it," explain Nicolas Rieffel, the gastronomic agitator and president of the Life Pink association, and Stéphane Jost, the driving force behind the SR Zellwiller, who have known each other since childhood through family and school ties.
The result: a friendly day of football with all the SRZ teams (soon to be 300 members), but not only that. "Many surprises await those present to end the season on a high note," explains Stéphane Jost.
The tournament will pit the club's teams against an outside opponent, before a gala match at 5 p.m. which will pit a mixed senior team from Zellwiller against a "Life Team" team led by Nicolas Rieffel.
Renowned former players are expected (Jean-Philippe Sabo, Yacine Abdessadki, Laura Cuillière, Cédric Stoll, etc.), as well as many Alsatian personalities.
“Cécile Wolfrom, Miss Alsace 2021, journalists Laurent Weisskopf, Charly Weber and Sébastien Ruffet, influencer Céline #unefilleenalsace and David who participated in the last season of “Koh Lanta” will be present,” announces Nicolas Rieffel.
The kickoff will be given by Constance Schaerer, founder of the association "7 Summits Against Disease," who has just returned from her trek to Mount Everest. The event will be hosted by Jean-Luc Filser, Racing's official announcer, at the Meinau Stadium.
And on this day of Music Day, the evening will continue until the end of the night with a concert by Mariah Appavoo and DJ Zeqco.
"We share the same values, and many in the club have been confronted with illness. We were keen to do something good by raising funds," said Stéphane Jost and Nicolas Rieffel, whose association Life Pink is also a partner of the club's women's Mums team jersey.
